Assistant Housekeeper (St. Mary, Jamaica) - GoldenEye

GoldenEye, located in Oracabessa, St. Mary, a member of the Island Outpost Group, is seeking a suitably qualified individual to fill the position of:

Assistant Housekeeper

The Assistant Housekeeper will give direct support to the Executive Housekeeper in the daily management of the Housekeeping and Laundry Operations to include public areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties will include but are not limited to assisting the Executive Housekeeper with:
  • Updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including checklists, training guides and manuals
  • Liaising closely with front office for room listing to prepare work assignments and determining room needs for appropriate scheduling of the Housekeeping staff as well as daily room inspections to ensure room equipment, etc in proper working order - report defective items
  • Human resource management for the department: employment, training and directing staff activities on a daily basis
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Department to effect preventative and corrective maintenance in the rooms and the department
  • Establishing and maintaining servicing schedules for all equipment and appliances as well as ensuring repairs are done promptly to keep equipment in good working condition
  • Maintaining par stock levels for housekeeping supplies and inventory

Preferred Profile:
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Hospitality from a recognized institution
  • Five (5) years industry and management experience
  • Proven problem solving and prioritization skills, able multi-task while maintaining accuracy 
  • Highly responsive to issues, comfortable working at a fast pace, balancing conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated skills in prioritization and time management to ensure that reports are timely compiled and workload is managed effectively within agreed time-frames and deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, a mature approach with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively, as part of a team to ensure team and business goals are met efficiently
