ROLE AND CORE FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
Under the general direction of the Registered Nurse, the Health Technician shall have responsibility for
providing assistance with the screening of patients.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Four (4) GCE O’Levels/CXCs including English and a numeric subject
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology
  • At least one (1) years’ experience as a Health Technician
  • Nurses Aid training would be an asset
  • Any equivalent combination of qualification and experience
Required skills and specialised knowledge:
  • Excellent Record Management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Time management skills

Special conditions associated with the job:
  • Required to work beyond normal working hours in order to meet stipulated deadlines

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist Enrolled Assistant Nurse (EAN) to conduct screening of patients.
  • Maintain record of tests done and results.
  • Enter patient data in the database.
  • Register participants at NHF outreach events
  • Maintain records of reagents/supplies.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse, the Health Promotion & Public Relations Manager or the CEO.

Records Officer (St. Mary, Jamaica) - St. Mary Health Department

The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Wellness, with responsibility for the management and operation of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary, and Portland is seeking a dynamic, proactive and experienced individual to fill the position of RECORDS OFFICER 1 (PIDG/RIM 2) at the St. Mary Health Department.

Reporting to the Chief Public Health Inspector, the ideal candidate must meet the following minimum:
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) subjects at CXC/GCE O' Level inclusive of English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificate / Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent would be an asset
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in administration would be an asset.
Required Skills and Specialized Techniques:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • PC (computer) operating skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good time management skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Sorting, typing and filing documents for the department
  • Documents burial site inspections and dispatch the information to the respective inspectors in the major
  • health districts
  • Updating information on the various databases
  • Assisting clients with completing the application forms
  • Providing information that the clients may require
  • Issuing of food handlers and health certificates to clients
  • Preparing health cards for barbers, hairdressers and beauty therapists
REMUNERATION PACKAGE PER ANNUM: Salary Scale: $ 1,711,060 – 2,301,186 per annum

This is a live-out position. 

Location: Richmond Estate, Ocho Rios, St. Ann

Looking for a maid/cook to support the daily living routines of my family. A Spanish bilingual maid is preferred that is motivated and hardworking to work on Monday-Friday.

Saturdays will be done by request of the employer.

Also have details in Spanish to share, as the employer prefers a Spanish speaking employee.

Job duties and details House Manager/Cook:

The employee will do:

  • Laundry and making beds
  • Cooking 
  • Routine cleaning tasks such as cleaning the kitchen, etc
  • Put away clothes and a few other household items.
  • Provide elderly care support (minimal)
  • The employer will pay for morning travel via taxi to work.
  • The employer also provides holiday bonuses.
