Energetic Nanny required (Kingston, Jamaica)


We are seeking a Nanny with lots of energy and a willingness to entertain and nurture our 5-month old baby girl. 

Desired Experience/ Attributes:

  • Resides in the Kingston/St. Andrew parish
  • Twenty-seven (27) years or older 
  • Female
  • Two (2) years’ experience in childcare, geriatric care, teaching or pediatric nursing

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing/feeding the baby mashed foods and pre-expressed milk
  • Playing with the baby, bathing her and putting her down for naps
  • Changing diapers, as well as washing and hanging baby’s clothes 1-2x/week
  • Keeping the main room tidy eg. mopping/sweeping if necessary
  • Adhering to recommended Covid-19 protocols 

Hours: weekdays 7:15 am-4:15 pm sharp

Pay: $11,000/week paid fortnightly

Location: Manor Park area

Expected start: early-mid December

 ROLE OVERVIEW

Global Rescue will be providing mandated travel risk, crisis management, response and evacuation services to travelers in various Caribbean locations. These services include field rescue, medical support and logistics, evacuations and repatriations and risk mitigation, processing and remediation of CV-19 positive travelers. Global Rescue will be establishing operations centers in the region to support active and ongoing cases.  The operations centers will be operated by emergency medical technicians, nurses, doctors and certain military, law enforcement and intelligence specialists to provide required crisis management, response, medical and security services.

In this role, you will staff emergency access communication systems in our operations centers to respond to client health events, deploy both domestically and internationally in support of a variety of medical operations, and perform a combination of medical logistics, communications and research work in support of active cases and to prepare for future operations. You should be a team player, mission-oriented and an excellent multi-tasker, have great time management skills, and enjoy helping find the right solutions for our members.  You need to be technologically adept, able to learn and integrate new information quickly, and flexible and creative in thought process and problem-solving.

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Staff emergency access lines in our operations centers to respond to member health events
  • Manage and coordinate logistics for medical transfers from remote locations to hospitals within the U.S. and other locations (includes air, ground, sea, etc.)
  • Travel domestically and internationally via commercial and private aircraft to oversee and coordinate patient relocation, stabilization, response and monitoring 
  • Support security operations as requested
  • Follow, maintain and improve departmental protocol, process and quality standards 
  • Research and maintain operations resources and databases
  • Travel domestically and internationally in support of operational development. Rapidly deploy as needed. 

 QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Five plus (5+) years of EMT or Nurse experience
  • Active Jamaica medical license/certification in good standing
  • ICU and/or ER experience preferred
  • ACLS
  • PHTLS or ITLS 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software/technology quickly
  • Mission focused orientation, interest in “doing whatever it takes” to help those in need
  • Attention to detail and follow-through 
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills

PMTCT Nurse (HPC/RN 2) - Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Thomas, St. Catherine - SERHA

 The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Wellness, with responsibility for the management and delivery of Public Health Services within the parishes of Kingston & St Andrew, St Catherine, and St Thomas invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of PMTCT Nurse (HPC/RN 2).


Job Purpose

The officer will be responsible to ensure that the eMTCT guidelines (Option B+) as stipulated by WHO for HIV and Syphilis positive mothers are being met at the respective Treatment Sites so as to prevent the risk of transmission to the unborn child. He /she will report social, biographic and clinical data relating to HIV, Syphilis and related diseases from perinatal and/or Pediatric and/or Adolescent clients. The PMTCT Nurse is responsible to monitor the elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV and congenital syphilis in the respective parish.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
  • Certified Nurse mid-wife or Certified Nurse in HIV/AIDS care with at least three (3) years’ experience in general nursing
  • Previous experience in counseling, phlebotomy, research, or public health nursing is an asset.

 Must demonstrate

  • Strict confidentiality at all times
  • The ability to create an enabling environment for all clients accessing care
