Qualifications and Experience:

  • Four (4) CXC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

GARDENER - for a fixed term of 12 months (40 hours/week), 

with the possibility of an extension. 


We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least several years experience to maintain the beauty of plants, outdoor grounds, and trees on the Embassy's premises.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but are hot limited to):

  • Plant and maintain seasonal plants 
  • Mow, trim and fertilize green spaces
  • Mulch, edge and weed gardens
  • Prune, trim trees and bushes
  • Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
  • Monitor and maintain the health of plants
  • Deal with pest problems that could damage plants 
  • Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
  • Clean gutters

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience as a gardener (minimum seven (7) years)
  • Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
  • The ability to lift heavy objects
  • A high school diploma
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English Language
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team, positive team spirit, diligence and reliability, honesty and discretion
  • Jamaican national or national with already valid work  and residence permits for Jamaica
  • Familiarity with landscaping design an asset
