Clinical management of teams in consultation with the Director of Nursing; Provides leadership and acting as a role model to enhance the professional image and ensure optimal quality patient.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assessing patients’ health problems and needs, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members; educating patients on their illness and condition, developing and implementing patient care plans, helping in rehabilitation, and providing emotional support to patients’ families.
ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clinical management of teams in consultation with the Director of Nursing;
- Relieves the Director of Nursing as required and communicates regarding pertinent issues related to each unit;
- Serves as a connection between the management and staff;
- Provides leadership and acting as a role model to enhance the professional image and ensure optimal quality patient;
- Monitors, participates and evaluates staff standards and care plans;
- Implements tactical work plans to support the goals and objectives of the organization according to the directions of Director of Nursing and assist with the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures;
- Ensures that the skills and procedures are practiced in accordance with professional values and moral principles;
- Facilitates appropriate staff coverage on assigned units;
- Ensures that needed material resources for efficient functioning of units are appropriately and in place;
- Oversees and controls materials and drugs inventory and monitoring stock for expiration dates;
- Participates in quality improvement, research and equipment evaluation;
- Identify staff development and training needs and report to Director of Nursing;
- Directs and assists staff to emergencies and evacuation plans as needed in situations like such severe weather, fire or bomb scare;
- Participates as needed as a member of various committees related to the overall improvement of the corporation (quality, infection, etc);

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a degree in Nursing, licensed as a Registered Nurse and inscription in Nursing Council of Jamaica.
- Computer Literacy, communication skills, basic knowledge in English (write and read), mathematics, science.
- Experience in Midwifery, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room would be an asset.
