Radiographer (Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica) - Omega Medical Services

Perform x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety

  • Preparing examination rooms for patient procedures.
  • Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images.
  • Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort.
  • Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast.
  • Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in operating a CT scan machine and be able to do contrast studies.
  • Must be able to operate a 1.5T MRI machine proficiently
  • Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records.
  • General ultrasonography is an asset but not a requirement
  • Organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies.
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance on radiographic equipment

Required Qualifications:
  • BSc. Radiography and Diagnostic Imaging
  • License to practice radiography.
  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance.
  • Membership with professional bodies would be an asset. E.g., Society of Radiographers Jamaica

LEAD PHARMACIST (Part-time)


Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
  • Dispense and supervise the dispensing of medication and medical supplies according to physician’s prescription.
  • Review, clarify, interpret and enter patients’ information and medication orders for processing based on established protocols.
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs.
  • Oversee preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of all drugs and pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain quality control for patient care, medication and equipment.
  • Resolve potential and actual drug related issues.
  • Round with the other prescribers of medications to provide the best quality patient care.

Physiotherapist (Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica) - Omega Medical Services

 

The Physiotherapist assists patients in rehabilitating physical problems caused by illness, injury, disability or aging, through treatment. The responsibilities of physiotherapists include planning treatments, reviewing recovery, and conducting therapeutic exercises with patients.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Assess patients' physical abilities through evaluative procedures such as functional ability tests
  • Establish treatment goals with patients based on physical diagnoses
  • Plan and implement programs of physiotherapy including therapeutic exercise, manipulations, massage, education, the use of electro-therapeutic and other mechanical equipment and hydrotherapy.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and modify accordingly
  • Communicate with referring physician and other health care professionals regarding patients' problems, needs and progress
  • Maintain clinical and statistical records and confer with other health care professionals
  • Maintain patient records and update files as needed
  • Manage physiotherapy areas under the guidance of direct supervisors and managers
  • Develop programs that contribute to the wellness of patients and staff.
  • Comply with government and medical association regulations
  • Staying up to date with new initiatives and guidelines associated with patient care

Requirements
  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Experience working as a physiotherapist.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The Medical Sonographer will use equipment that produces two-dimensional high frequency sound waves to create diagnostic images of the human body for use in diagnosis of disease or organ malfunctions.

  • Review and analyse images before sending to the physician to ensure a clear image of the area requested
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during sonogram scan procedures.
