Job Functions includes (but not limited to):
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Exercise professional judgment in making decisions.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Schedule and administer at least two workshop sessions monthly accumulating to three hours on Personal Development, Hygiene and Sex Education.
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with students, parents, administrators and other school personnel
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and following nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by the Nursing Council of Jamaica and other governing agency regulations.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies as well as Initiate referrals to the appropriate persons for intervention, remediation and follow-through.

Qualification and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Valid nursing license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, preferably in a Health Care Facility.

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Vice Principal - Administration, the incumbent will provide primary health care services for the College's students and staff; participate in health promotion programs and give advice on matters relating to health. The incumbent is also required to assess, plan, execute, and evaluate health care programs of the College.
