The Nurse is responsible for creating and maintaining a health care programme and to provide basic health care to enhance the wellness of trainees, staff and guests.

The Nurse is responsible for creating and maintaining a health care programme and to provide basic health care to enhance the wellness of trainees, staff and guests.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or equivalent and the designation of Registered Nurse by the Nursing Council of Jamaica
• At least three (3) year’s relevant work experience in a comparable position or business/work environment such as an industrial operation, an education institution, a major health centre or a hospital

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent Human Relations and Interpersonal skills
• Good Counselling skills/techniques
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health Policies
• Knowledge of the management of Medical Emergencies
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

KEY DUTIES:

• Follows occupational health and safety practices
• Follows environmental work practices
• Facilitates counselling relationships
• Applies conflict resolution strategies
• Conducts health and safety training
• Conducts hygiene and performance investigation
• Implements health education programmes
• Monitors and manages sick bay
• Monitors hygiene and sanitation performance
• Maintains the procurement and storage of pharmaceutical products
• Manages record systems
• Provides first aid
• Prepares reports
• Plans and manages Workplace Health & Safety meetings
