JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to Legal Officers, the incumbent will provide secretarial services that will ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Legal Division.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Assists in the preparation of legal documents, under the guidance of the Senior Assistant Attorney General and Legal Officers;
- Drafts all legal documents including Agreements, Contracts, Memorandum and other Commercial documents;
- Keeps and monitors Law Volumes to ensure the Law Library is up-to-date and Volumes updated/annotated;
- Conducts research into legislation, other sources of law and relevant documents as directed;
- Serves as liaison with all internal and external contacts in facilitating the work of the Legal Services Unit;
- Successful completion of a course of study at an accredited Secretarial School and English Language at the CXC/GCE O’Level English;
- Successful completion of the prescribed Office Professional Training Course at the Management Institute for National Development at (MIND;
- Typewriting/word processing at a speed of 45-50 wpm;
- Good shorthand/note taking skills of at least 100wpm would be an asset;
- At least two (2) years working experience in a similar capacity.
