Requirements- High School Diploma / School Leaving Certificate
- At least five (5) CXC’s inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.
- Must have at least One (1) year experience in a Pharmacy setting
- Must be certified and/or trained
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
- Ensure that all items on the shelves have correct prices.
- Monitor Inventory level to prevent overstocking. Create and update patient’s health and insurance information (profile) in the system.
- Maintain an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Perform duties of Pharmacy Technician when needed.
- Enter prescription orders into the system.
- Perform cashiering duties according to schedule when needed.
- Assist pharmacist with filing and labeling prescriptions.
- Replenish shelves daily from excess stock and make note of low stock for reordering.
- Remove returnable goods from shelves 3-4 months prior to expiration
- Collect prescribed items from shelves for packing.
- Verify that customers receives correct prescription(s)
- Prepackage bulk medications
- Compound mixtures or medications (e.g. oral suspensions, tropical ointments and/or creams)
- Answer the telephone
- Maintain knowledge of loss prevention techniques
- Assist other pharmacy technicians.
- Receive ordered stock and assist with packing and pricing of new goods received
- Check integrity of goods before acceptance/signing.
- Maintain areas/ shelves designated for cleaning and checking for expired stock on a daily basis
- Perform blood pressure checks.
- Pricing and audit of all OTC Invoices for goods received.
- Pricing of all goods received on a timely basis.
- Record keeping of all Invoices received.
- Removal of expired good from shelves.
- Record keeping of all goods returned to suppliers.
- Ensuring that credit notes are received for all returns.
- Adjusting inventory for all returns to suppliers.
- Daily maintenance of OTC system to correct errors to the system.
- Perform periodic stock counts to ensure inventory integrity.
- Follow recommended protocols in check off.
- Pre-pack frequently used items for efficient dispensing.
- Check monthly averages weekly to facilitate more accurate purchases.
- Provide stock inventory information for Pharmacists/Technicians.
- Providing quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers
- Assist patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders.
- Monitoring pre-packed items (Implement a system for control).
- Perform blood glucose tests
- Ensure all goods have correct pricing.
- Promote items on special, especially to rewards customers.
- Promote sale of complimentary products.
- Provide price checks for goods when requested via phone, whatsapp or online
- Generate receipts for at least 2 items kept inside the dispensary for customers.
- Specific responsibility for Placing JADEP orders.
- Assist cashiers when necessary such as delete items from the RMS system
- Any other duties which may be assigned by the pharmacist, supervisor or manager.
- In addition to performance of the essential functions above, this position may be required to perform a combination of other supportive functions, to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of Fontana Limited.
- In order to properly service our clients, you may be required to work outside of our scheduled business hours.
