Sonographer (Negril, Westmoreland) - Omega Medical Services

The Medical Sonographer will use equipment that produces two-dimensional high frequency sound waves to create diagnostic images of the human body for use in diagnosis of disease or organ malfunctions.

Qualifications

• Sonography Certification
• BLS Certification
• Good communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Able to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision
• Able to accept and perform requisite job responsibilities
• Hardworking, organized, flexible and able to multi-task
• Computer/Technologically Savvy
• Must demonstrate professional behaviour

Responsibilities include/but not limited to: -

• Prepare ultrasound equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed
• Review the patient’s medical chart prior to their appointment to have a clear understanding of the images required
• Use positioning tools and safety equipment properly to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging
• Use ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely
• Review and analyse images before sending to the physician to ensure a clear image of the area requested
• Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during sonogram scan procedures.
