Radiographer (Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica) - Omega Medical Services

Perform x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety

  • Preparing examination rooms for patient procedures.
  • Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images.
  • Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort.
  • Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast.
  • Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in operating a CT scan machine and be able to do contrast studies.
  • Must be able to operate a 1.5T MRI machine proficiently
  • Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records.
  • General ultrasonography is an asset but not a requirement
  • Organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies.
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance on radiographic equipment

Required Qualifications:
  • BSc. Radiography and Diagnostic Imaging
  • License to practice radiography.
  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance.
  • Membership with professional bodies would be an asset. E.g., Society of Radiographers Jamaica

Radiographer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Jamaica Cancer Society


The  Jamaica Cancer Society seeks to employ a Radiographer, certified with the Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Radiography
  • At least two (2) years experience in Radiographic imaging
  • Mammography experience would be an asset
  • Supervisory Management

Key Competencies:
  • Willingness to learn mammography 
  • Experience with Computed Radiology Systems
  • Provide excellent patient care

Medical Receptionist/Transcriptionist

The Medical Receptionist/Transcriptionist is the client’s first point of contact with X-Ray and Diagnostic Ultrasound Consultants Limited. This person is responsible for managing the appointment system, ensuring that patients are properly registered, maintaining patient records, processing and recording payments, typing and issuing of reports, completion of the Daily Report among other duties.


Key Competencies/Abilities:

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type at a rate of at least 60 words per minute.
  • Excellent communication and client relations skills.
  • Ability to manage time well, work independently and multi-task.
  • Education and Experience:
  • At a minimum, High School Diploma (passes in English Language and Mathematics are desirable).
  • Prior front desk/customer service experience would be an asset.
