Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the positions of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians at the University Hospital of the West Indies for working full time and on sessional basis.
Pharmacist
Under the general supervision of the Director - Pharmacy Services, the incumbent will be expected to perform duties and functions of registered Pharmacists, according to laws and regulations covering the practice of the pharmacy in Jamaica. Viz; The Pharmacy Act 1966, The Food and Drug Act 1964 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1948 and their regulations.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- BSc in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
- Current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica
- At least one (1) year posts registration experience
- Must be able to work on shift
- Hospital pharmacy experience would be an asset or familiarity with hospital pharmacies
Pharmacy Technician
The successful candidate will be expected to assist and support the registered Pharmacist in filling, sorting and packaging prescription drugs.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Pharmacy Technician certificate from a recognized institution
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience
