- Dental Nurse/Hygienist (HTAC/DN 2) - Two (2) positions: Vacant - Garrison Administrative Unit (Health Services Corps) - Salary range: $3,759,184 - $4, 468, 488 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
- Dental Assistant (HTAC/DA 1) - One (1) position: Vacant - Garrison Administrative Unit (Health Services Corps) - Salary range: $2,078,360 - $2,410,261 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
- Patients screened
- Triage assessments done
- Medical health history reviews conducted
- Vital signs taken, routine and diagnostics oral examination
- Patient records maintained
- Dental radiographs (X-rays) taken and developed
- Local anesthetics administered
- Assist with the supervision of the Dental Assistant and Dental Assistant Administrator
- Information on oral hygiene strategies provided
- Patient records maintained and updated
- Vital signs of patients taken and recorded before dentist proceeds with examination process
- Patients provided with information on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
- Dental radiographs taken and developed in accordance to standards
- Thorough assessment of oral health trauma, making provision for appropriate treatment
- Prepare reports as necessary
- Proper oral health and dental hygiene procedures administered to all patients in keeping with specified standards and guidelines

- BSc degree in Dental Nursing from an approved institution
- Registration with the Dental Council of Jamaica
- Valid dental nursing license
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working within the dental field
- Typical working environment
- May be required to work beyond the normal working hours
- May be required to work on weekends and public holidays
- Office located some distance from the main entrance
- May be subjected to search based on JDF's rule
- Ensure that service given patients conforms with the dental regulation and guidelines of the Health and Dental Act
- Record treatments and information on patients in their dockets
- Administer appropriate first and technique to patients in need
- Take and record patient's medical and dental history and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature and pulse)
- Maintain and service autoclave and equipment
- Provide post-operative instructions prescribed by the Dentist
- Prepare patient, sterilize and disinfect instruments
- Set up instruments and trays for dental surgeon
- Prepare materials for specific procedures
- Assist dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies
- Prepare surgeries for daily procedure
- Chairside assisting of Oral Health instructions
- Chairside assisting of specialists - implant orthodontic
