The North-East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Wellness,
with responsibility for the management and delivery of Public Health Services within the parishes of
St. Ann, St. Mary, and Portland invites applications from suitable qualified persons to fill the position
of COMMUNITY HEALTH AIDES (HSC/HS 4) at the St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland Health Departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
- Four (4) CXC subjects including English Language or equivalent Level 3 City & Guilds.
- Practical Nursing Certificate; and a pass in Mathematics would be an asset.
- Good and effective working relations with other staff members.
- Willingness and hardworking.
- Work performed to the highest possible standard.
- Pleasant and even-tempered.
- Good communication skills.
- Motivates and refers new clients to Family Planning, Ante & Post Natal and other clinics
- Carries out home visits for clients newly discharged from hospitals including: diabetics or mothers and infants
- Assists the Community Nurses and District Midwives in ensuring that all expectant mothers in the assigned community are referred to the Health Centre for care
- Advise diabetic and hypertensive patients of the importance of regularly taking their medications and keeping their clinic appointments.
- Inform the community of all available health and environmental services and social programmes.
- Salary Scale: $ 1,545,377 – 1,836,968 per annum
