Quality Assurance Manager (Kingston, Jamaica) - Cal's Manufacturing Limited


Cal's Manufacturing Limited is seeking to employ a detail oriented, experienced and technically knowledgeable QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER to join our Quality Team.

The selected individual will have the responsibility to:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all the activities of the Quality Assurance Team
  • Conduct required analysis/audits and make recommendations to ensure conformity to all manufacturing, production and standard industry requirements
  • Develop and implement performance metrics for the monitoring of the quality management, food safety and occupational health systems
  • Plan and manage department budget and ensure availability of resources for tests and other department activities
  • Writing and reviewing testing plans for inline and finished product quality control testing, manage testing laboratory and perform verification of product test results ensuring that all products meet specifications
  • Perform process validation studies and make recommendations for sanitation, product quality and food safety
  • Manage the development of new products and changes to product formulations and also manage the non-conformance process
  • Manage the internal audit/supplier audit and calibration programmes
  • Lead, coach and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
  • Prepare detailed reports for management review and action
Qualifications/Skills and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree preferred in the field of Quality Management or Food Management Services/Systems
  • Certifications including ISO 9001, Quality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, Quality Inspection, auditing and testing experience are advantages
  • At least three (3) years experience in a quality related or managerial position
  • Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices and HACCP, occupational health and safety implementation, tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality management as well as experience in the use of data analysis and statistical tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
