Nurse
National Tool and Engineering Institute

The Nurse is responsible for creating and maintaining a health care programme and providing basic health care to enhance the wellness of trainees, staff and guests. The incumbent administers first aid, conducts health education, administers to medical emergencies, inspects public health status of the facilities and refers staff/trainees/guests to various medical agencies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ-J level 5 certification, Bachelor's degree or equivalent and the designation of Registered Nurse by the Nursing Council of Jamaica
- At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a comparable position or business/work environment such as an industrial operation, an educational institution, a major health centre or a hospital
Key Competencies:
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Health Policies
- Knowledge of the management of Medical Emergencies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Key Duties:
- Follows occupational health and safety practices
- Medical examination coordinated for staff and trainees
- Follows environmental work practices
- Conducts health and safety training
- Implements health education programmes
