Registered Nurse (Kingston, Jamaica) - Heart Foundation of Jamaica

The Heart Foundation of Jamaica has a vacancy for an enthusiastic professional to join our team. The incumbent will be responsible to work at the In-House Clinic and on the Mobile Screening Team on a rotational basis, screening patients for cardiovascular disease. He/She is responsible for supervising all staff working on the Mobile Team and assisting the Nurse Manager with the supervision of staff at the In-House Clinics. 

He/She will also assist the Nurse Manager in the day-to day operations of the Medical Department as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Be a Registered Nurse - registered with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Be willing to travel island-wide and stay overnight (as required)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • To be available for work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as arranged in advance and to overnight with the Mobile Screening team when required
  • Be BLS certified and/or prepared to attend relevant course and in-service training as required - BLS, FA, ACLS and ECG interpretation certificate courses
  • Show a willingness for upgrading skills through further training
  • Be computer literate and efficient in Microsoft Office Suite
