Matron, Assistant Matron (St. Ann, Jamaica) - St. Ann Municipal Corporation

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following posts in the St. Ann Municipal Corporation:

  1. Matron (HPC/RN5) - St. Ann Infirmary - Salary Scale: $2,254,290 - $2,679,643
  2. Assistant Matron (HPC/RN4) - St. Ann Infirmary - Salary Scale: $1,944,796 - $2,311,751
Key Responsibilities:
  • Exercise direct supervision of the work done by Patient Care Assistants, Nurse Aides, Cleaners and Cooks
  • Exercise direct supervision of Nursing Care
  • Assist with administrative duties
  • Implement Occupational Therapy under the direction of the Physiotherapist
  • Assist in maintaining discipline of residents and staff
  • Assist in ensuring safety on wards and environment
  • Assist in In-service training exercise
  • To assume duties of the Matron in her absence 
Qualifications:
  • BSc in Nursing from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Registration with Nursing Council of Jamaica
  • At least three (3) years of clinical practice
  • Possession of relevant certificate/diploma from Board of Supervision would be an asset. However, the diploma is a requirement for appointment
