Phoenix Academy Jamaica is a privately owned school with Kindergarten and Preparatory Departments, catering to students of all learning abilities. We are seeking to engage suitably qualified primary and kindergarten/early childhood teachers with unconventional, 'out-of-the-box pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning to transition to our new iLearn Programme.

Vacancies:

  • Language and Literacy Specialist (Remedial)
  • Teacher (Science) - PEP Labs 1-3
  • Teacher - Learning Labs 1-3 (Grades 1-3)
  • Kindergarten Teacher/Caregiver 
  • Cleaner 

Ideally, the interested candidates must:
  • Be holders of a Teachers' Diploma (TT.Dip) and/or a Bachelors' degree in Language / Literacy, Science Education, Biology or Primary Education
  • Be holders of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or HEART/NCTVET Level 2 or 3 (for EC Practitioners)
  • Be able to plan and deliver individualized and differentiated lessons to learners with multiple learning abilities 
  • Be able to administer flexible, differentiated and alternative assessments based on students varying learning styles and needs 
  • Be motivated to create teaching aides where learning resources are out of print or unavailable
  • Be sure to incorporate and use technology, social media and web-based resources in instructional delivery 
  • Be able to plan and independently organize off-site experiential learning opportunities for students 
  • Possess excellent classroom management strategies consistent with existing legislation and emerging trends in behaviour management protocols
