Registered Nurse (George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) - Health Services Authority (HSA)

The Registered Nurse works out of Specialist Clinic to provide support for surgical services and improve the perioperative workflow process and surgical experience for patients.

Primary Responsibilities: 
The successful candidate must 
  • Be able to manage a caseload and provide care coordination with the surgical team throughout the patient’s perioperative journey. 
  • Be aware of the patient’s progress throughout the perioperative progress. 
  • Ensure perioperative tests are ordered, completed, and reviewed, identifying any potential risks that may delay or reschedule the surgical procedure. 
  • Initiate and manage the reserve waiting list effectively. 
  • Initiate and develop a preoperative one-stop approach clinic. 
  • Provide preoperative education to patients and families, documenting their understanding. 
  • Plan and contribute to the learning experience of nursing students.

Qualifications & Experience: 
The successful candidate must 
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Perioperative nursing experience is preferred. 
  • All candidates must be registered in either of the following jurisdictions to be eligible to practice in the Cayman Islands; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and/or Australia. The candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
