A highly successful company with subsidiaries in Ocho Rios, Drax Hall, and Kingston, is seeking to recruit a Pharmacist for its pharmacy at Drax Hall, St. Ann.
The ideal applicant will be required to perform the following core function using the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined:
PHARMACIST
Primary duties:
The pharmacist will assist customers by compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications; monitoring customers' drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications; providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications; and providing pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or its equivalent
- At least three (3) years proven experience as a pharmacist
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds and pharmaceutical brands
- Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical procedures, processes and local Ministry of Health and international regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fully computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications used by pharmacies such as Pharmacy Works
