Registered Nurse for the Annotto Bay Hospital.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, the incumbent is responsible for direct and indirect nursing
care and treatment of patients/clients at the hospital with exception of the delivery of babies.

The ideal candidate will meet the following educational criteria:
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- BSc. in General Nursing from an accredited Institution
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Assess, diagnose, classify, plans, implements, evaluates a nursing care plan for the individual patient/client using all relevant data.
- Interprets and administers prescriptions, treatments, and monitors the patient’s action to determine the best possible outcomes.
- Acts promptly and effectively in emergency situations
- Performs nursing procedures that are appropriate to the needs, age and acuity level of the patient
- Documents information promptly, clearly and completely and relates as necessary to the relevant persons.
- Ensures proper collection, identification, storage and safe transportation of specimens to the laboratory with appropriate requisition forms.
- Participate in quality assurance programmes of unit - Ensure environmental safety of patient care unit and sees that appropriate health and safety measures are in place.
- Implements discharge/care plan including referral to appropriate agencies.
- Supervises auxiliary and support staff, assists in the cost-effective usage of supplies and equipment.
- Assumes in charge/administrative responsibility when delegated, especially afternoon and night duty.
- Acts as liaison between patient/client relative and the physician in interpreting and conveying information.
- Teaches patient/client and family health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance
- Participates in the clinical teaching and evaluation of nursing students, auxiliaries and other personnel
- Participates in ward rounds, patient/client reports and staff conferences.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE PER ANNUM:
Salary Scale: $2,998,418 – $3,564,176 per annum along with any other allowance(s) attached to the post.
