Weekend Caregiver/Helper (Trelawny, Jamaica)

 Location: Wiltshire, Trelawny, Jamaica.

Weekend Caregiver/Helper is needed in Wiltshire, Trelawny.

Live-in on weekends. 

Age range required: Between 35 to 45 years old.

The role will require the suitable candidate to provide support to an elderly woman in her home during the weekend from 5.00 p.m. on Friday to 9.00 a.m. on Monday morning. The role will require the caregiver/helper to prepare and serve meals, perform personal care, and support with bathroom duties.

The home is situated in Wiltshire, Trelawny, with easy access from the main road, and good transport links.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Helping with mobility, including transferring from bed to chair, and using a walker or wheelchair.
• Providing night watching at intervals
• Preparing and serving meals, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
• Providing medication reminders and assistance with medication administration.
• Performing light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a tidy living environment.
• Offering companionship and engaging in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Accompanying the client to appointments and outings as needed.
• Monitoring and reporting any changes in health or behavior to family members or medical professionals.

Skills and Abilities required for this position:

• Previous experience in elderly care or a similar role.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift and assist with mobility.
• Basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Clear background check and references.

Salary: To be discussed at the interview but will be based on average wage for the role.
