WEEKEND CAREGIVER NEEDED FOR ELDERLY PATIENT TWICE A MONTH

JOB STARTS: Saturday, July 4 -Tuesday, July 7
Shift: Relief caregiver needed to do 2 live-in weekends each month.
Location: Portmore, St.Catherine

Patient: 71-year-old bedbound female patient with dementia.

Qualifications: Proactive and responsible caregiver, with previous experience caring for elderly patient(s) with memory loss. Professional nursing experience is a plus. Experience with hospice patients a plus.

THE CAREGIVER MUST

• Have previous experience caring for elderly patient(s)
• Care about the elderly and provide gentle care
• Be professional - be on time, be attentive to patient, be able to communicate, be teachable
• Provide name and phone numbers for 3 references. 2 must be former supervisors , 2 former supervisors
• Be willing to provide national ID
• Be willing to provide a police record – supervisor will pay the cost of obtaining the record if you are shortlisted

Duties:

• Do activities of daily living, such as bathing, changing diapers, brushing teeth, dressing, combing hair.
• Prevent bed sores: Turn patient according to the turning schedule.
• Clean: Keep patient’s fan free of dust. Keep the patient's living environment spotless. Keep home space clean.
• Hygienic Cook: Prepare breakfast, lunch,and dinner in a hygienic way - patient eats 8-12 ounces of liquid meals like soup and Ensure.
• Monitor and record: Monitor and keep log of vital signs (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, and immediately report any changes in mood, skin, etc to supervisor.
• Liaison: Liaise with supervisor and medical team via WhatsApp.
