Enrolled Assistant Nurse (Kingston, Jamaica) - National Health Fund

Enrolled Assistant Nurse (Temporary) – Health Promotion & Public Relations Department

ROLE AND CORE FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
Under the general direction of the Registered Nurse, the Enrolled Assistant Nurse shall work
closely with the Registered Nurse to provide:
  • Careful administration of screening tests
  • Supervision of the technician for the mobile screening unit
  • Continuous checks to ensure accurate data is captured

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Registered Enrolled Assistant Nurse licensed by the Nursing Council of Jamaica
  • Graduate from an Accredited Assistant Nurses’ Training Programme
  • Certificate in Care for the Elderly
  • At least two (2) years’ experience as an Enrolled Assistant Nurse
  • Any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
Required skills and specialised knowledge:
  • Sound analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent Record Management skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer Literacy
  • Time management skills
Special conditions associated with the job:
  • Required to work beyond normal working hours in order to meet stipulated
deadlines
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Careful administration of screening tests.
  • Supervision of the technician for the mobile screening unit.
  • Continuous checks to ensure accurate data is captured.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Health Promotion Supervisor, Health Promotion Coordinator, the Health Promotion & Wellness Manager or the CEO.
