Clinic Attendant (Black River, St. Elizabeth Jamaica) - Southern Regional Health Authority

 The Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness responsible for the management and operation of Public Health Services within the Parishes of Clarendon, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following position in the ST. ELIZABETH HEALTH SERVICES: CLINIC ATTENDANT (FEMALE)

(Salary range $916,530-$1,089,466 per annum and any allowance (s) attached to the post)

Under the general supervision of the Public Health Nurse, the incumbent will be responsible
for performing support functions as it relates to the day-to-day operations at the Health
Centre.

Qualification and Experience:

• School Leaving Certificate (Secondary Education)
• English Language in GCE O’Level/CXC at the General Proficiency level would be an asset

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the ushering of patients and maintaining order in the waiting areas
• Lifting patients to stretchers and wheelchairs when the need arises
• Ensuring that the building is opened on time and is securely locked at the end of the day
• Ensuring the general upkeep of the grounds and buildings; bushing and weeding of grounds, cleaning of high windows and walls, etc.
• Reporting any problems that may affect the smooth flow of work.

Specific Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Patience and tolerance
• Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral format
• Ability to respect patient confidentiality
