LIVE-IN RELIEF CAREGIVER NEEDED FOR NG TUBE-FED PATIENT WITH DEMENTIA

Details:
  • Shift: Friday 7:00 am - Monday 7:00 am (3 days, living in) every 2 weeks
  • Location: Portmore, St .Catherine
  • Patient: 70-year-old bedbound female patient with dementia who is being fed by NG tube.
  • Qualifications: Have previous experience caring for elderly patient(s) with memory loss

THE CAREGIVER MUST:
  • Have previous experience caring for elderly patient(s) with memory loss
  • Have experience using NG tubes or be able to learn quickly
  • Care about the elderly and provide gentle care
  • Be professional - be on time, be attentive to patient
  • Provide name and phone numbers for 2 references, preferably 2 former supervisors
  • Be willing to provide national ID
  • Be willing to provide Jamaican police record – supervisor will pay the cost of obtaining the record if you are shortlisted

Duties:
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, changing diapers, brushing teeth, dressing, combing hair
  • Clean: Keep patient’s fan free of dust. Clean up spills.
  • Hygienic Cook: Prepare breakfast, lunch,and dinner in a hygienic way - patient eats 8-12 ounces of liquid meals like soup and Ensure.
  • Monitor and record: Monitor and keep log of vital signs (e.g. blood pressure, and report any changes in mood, skin, etc to supervisor
