Barista (Kingston, Jamaica) - Starbucks Jamaica

 We’re currently accepting BARISTA applications for Jamaica (Kingston)

The below highlights key deliverables critical for the performance of the role. Performance reviews will be scheduled, based on agreement of metrics required from period-to-period. (Duties are subject to change)

Barista Duties:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and food items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and service areas.
• Educate customers about menu items, offering recommendations as needed.
• Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately.
• Ensure that all food and beverage items are made to company standards in terms of quality, presentation, and taste.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and handle customer transactions accurately.
• Create a friendly and welcoming environment for customers by maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring all barista equipment is set up and cleaned properly.

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience

• Atleast (4) Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) CSEC/'O' levels or equivalent
• Previous experience as a barista or in a retail environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for inventory management.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory tracking.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
