PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - (PARISH - ST. JAMES)
PHARMACY SERVICES DELIVERY DIVISION

ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
  • To support the Pharmacist in the accurate processing and filling of prescriptions.
  • Assist with picking and packaging and labeling of medications
  • Assist in the filing of prescriptions and other documents for the pharmacy.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory for pharmaceutical items.
  • Assist with receival and verification of stock delivered.
  • Assist in maintaining the general tidiness and organization of the pharmacy.
  • Assist in the ordering and storage of pharmaceuticals for the pharmacy.
  • Compound pharmaceuticals as requested by pharmacist.
  • Maintain accurate records of expiry dates of pharmaceuticals and short dated pharmaceuticals for return within the agreed timeframe.
  • Maintain accurate patient and drug records as required.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of five (5) subjects at the CXC/GCE Level including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
  • Possess a Pharmacy Technician Certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of one (1) year working experience in a pharmacy environment.
SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES:
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of pharmacy software.
