Pharmacy Technician (St. James, Jamaica) - National Health Fund
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the temporary post of:
PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - (PARISH - ST. JAMES)
PHARMACY SERVICES DELIVERY DIVISION
ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- To support the Pharmacist in the accurate processing and filling of prescriptions.
- Assist with picking and packaging and labeling of medications
- Assist in the filing of prescriptions and other documents for the pharmacy.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory for pharmaceutical items.
- Assist with receival and verification of stock delivered.
- Assist in maintaining the general tidiness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Assist in the ordering and storage of pharmaceuticals for the pharmacy.
- Compound pharmaceuticals as requested by pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate records of expiry dates of pharmaceuticals and short dated pharmaceuticals for return within the agreed timeframe.
- Maintain accurate patient and drug records as required.
- Perform any other related duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of five (5) subjects at the CXC/GCE Level including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
- Possess a Pharmacy Technician Certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of one (1) year working experience in a pharmacy environment.
SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES:
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Computer literate with working knowledge of pharmacy software.
